Conditions Treated

Plantar Fasciitis

This condition is characterized by localized pain and swelling in the inner area of the heel kneesbone and the arch of the foot.

Treatment Plan

Acute: Treatment consists of reducing any swelling in the affected area, followed by a series of stretching exercises designed to rehabilitate muscles and increase strength, so as to avoid future injuries.

Chronic: The treatment is much like that above: the individual patient needs to be evaluated and his/her condition addressed; swelling must be reduced and a regimen of care needs to be prescribed and followed. However, in chronic cases the patient may also be referred to a podiatrist for orthotic work.

About Ankle, Foot, and Heel Pain

Injuries to the ankle, foot and heel areas, come about as a result of unequal bearing of weight by the legs and feet. These imbalances can often cause undue stress to be exerted on the joints of the feet and ankles.
